The future of the Serie A club seems to be secured, after the club’s president Ugo Longo confirmed the financial guarantees required to start the new campaign have been met.  Rome-based businessman Claudio Lotito has acquired a 30% stake for € 21m which were poured to the club’s accounts. Lotito was originally poised to buy a majority 50% stake in the club for €43m, but pulled out after Italian bank Capitalia, which acquired a 28% holding from a recent rights’ issue, did not want to lose control of the club. Lotito had reached an agreement with the bank for an option to subsequently obtain stack quota. "The investment of Lotito has guaranteed the future of our club. He is a serious entrepreneur and thanks to him, we have a future” said Longo.
