Chester City denies a winding up order

The League Two club chairman Stephen Vaughan has denied reports that the club had found itself in trouble over allegations of unpaid VAT and has been served with a winding up order by HM Customs and Excise. Vaughan played down the situation, saying: "This situation is historic and we are having dialogue with Customs and Excise."
