Scottish Football Clubs Rangers and Celtic earned a total of GBP 22.1 million in Champions League and UEFA Cup participation.

According to figures release by UEFA yesterday, the Rangers earned more than Celtic, bringing in GBP 11.8 million, while Celtic's revenue totaled GBP 10.3 million.

The Rangers figure of GBP 11.8 million comes from the GBP 7.7 million from the group stages of the Champions League and their run to the UEFA Cup final, which brought in another GBP 4.1 million.

There was also a significant amount of revenue from gate earnings for both clubs.

The difference in earnings potential between the Champions League and the UEFA Cup is staggering. Manchester United was the top earner with GBP 33.9 million in the European Championship, while the UEFA Cup provided only GBP 400,000 for Everton.
