The English Premier League will re-distribute money from its lucrative TV deal, allowing clubs with more unstable finances to bridge the gulf with more dominant clubs.
The clubs agreed change the way the 25 percent of their broadcasting income is allocated.
The issue was that big clubs, certain to be involved in even more live broadcasts next season, would have even more income compared to their less well-off rivals.
The deal was done at Thursday's quarterly meeting of the 20 league clubs. The details will be finalised at the league's summer meeting in June.
With two broadcasters set to air live league matches, the more-renowned clubs probably would grab the majority of air time. That could further widen the financial chasm between rich club and poorer club.
