Scottish Dundee United had good and bad news for its fiscal year ending June 2007.
Turnover was down for the second year in a row, but the club also had a lower operating loss. The club lost GBP 509,000 as opposed to GBP 761,000 the prior year and GBP 2.67 million in 2003.
The net loss was up from to GBP 989,000 from GBP 785,000, but the wage bill for playing staff dropped by GBP 379,000.
The club, owned primarily by Eddie Thompson for the past five years, hopes to break even for the year ending June 2008, which would be the first time since the mid-1990s that it has happened.
The club owes GBP 6 million for a long-term loan.
