The Portugese club Benfica will have an estimated 33 percent free-float when it starts trading on Euronext Lisbon stock exchange. Benfica FC will be the third football club to be listed on Euronext Lisbon, after Porto FC, which won the first division Portuguese football league and Sporting FC, which ended second. Benfica finished third on the Portuguese league.
At a press conference, club officials declined to give any indication on the dividend policy or anticipate the share price.
Earlier, stock market regulator CMVM said it approved Benfica's prospectus for the initial public offering (IPO) for up to 15 million shares in the club, to start trading.
Banco Espirito Santo is managing the IPO. Benfica's shares, which have a nominal value of 5 EUR are currently owned by about 52,000 shareholders.
