PRESIDENT OF SEVILLE FC FORECASTS TRANSFER BUDGET

The Primera Liga club will have a transfer budget of more than EUR 20 million if the club qualifies for the UEFA Champions League next season, according to team president Jose Maria del Nido. If, however, the club fails to qualify for the Champions League and participates in the UEFA Cup, the budget would fall to between EUR 12-15 million, and would fall to between EUR 6-8 million if the club fails to qualify for any club competition.

“Our policy on expenses depends on income,” Del Nido said. “I can’t say whether I’m going to sell or not. We’re planning a future where we don’t make financial losses. We want to continue the good work of the last couple of years and make sure we don’t end up in the kind of bad situation we were in four or five years ago.”

Seville is taking on French Ligue 1 club Lille in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup.
