The Bundesliga club has reported EU 3.7m profit for the period of 2004/05 season. The club reported a turnover of EU 24m, EU 2m higher than the forecast, with expenses reported E 20.3m. “The surplus has been spent on reducing long-term financial obligations; in order to strengthen our training facilities, with parts being invested in new transfers,” According to financial director Friedhelm Andres. “One year in the Bundesliga has put us in the fortunate position of being able to start from zero again.”
Furthermore, the club’s annual general meeting approved plans by club president Harald Strutz to give the club a new, more professional management structure. The new structure will allow the club to employ part-time managing director Christian Heidel on a professional basis and handing him a seat on the club’s board of directors.
