Authorities in the city of Vitoria have approved EU 200,000 payment to the Primera Liga club for last season's sponsorship deal following a court case. Town mayor Alfonso Alonso declared that he was keen to settle the financial dispute, but only after a court case in which the town authorities had argued about the length of the contract that was signed. Local councilors claimed that the agreement was only put in place to try to help the side following their relegation to the Second Division. Club president Dmitry Piterman was incensed, brandishing Alonso a liar but his club now has the money they believe is rightly owned.
