Real Mallorca eliminate debts

The Primera Liga club has manages to pay its EU2m debts with the EU3.7m received from fellow club Espanyol for the transfer of striker Luis Garcia. “If we hadn’t sold Garcia the debt would be a lot greater,” club spokesman Alvaro Delgado commented to media.

The club also bought a share in the Vicente Grande group of firms in aim to launch a branded clothing line, which is due to expand away from football into other sports and urban wear. It has also been reported that the club managed to sale 18,000 season-tickets for the current campaign, highlighting a significant increase in the numbers of women and Under-23 year-olds that have registered.
