Sporting Gijon lose its players

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The Segunda Liga club has been deprived from its rights to their youth and second team players. The decision by the local Football Federation came after the club has failed to pay debts totaling €48,000. The debt has been claimed on various occasions but President Manuel Vega-Arango and Alfredo García Amado were unable to keep their promises, although the money to pay the debts is available from advertising income and ticket sales. Because of the decision, the youth and Sporting B players were all declared "free".
