Swiss Servette sent members on a trip to Japan in a possible effort to drum up investor support for the bankrupt second-division club.
Francisco Vinas, the club president, said the visit was a courtesy call to a Japanese investor. He did add that the club has two new investors, but would not identify them.
Former president Marc Roger was arrested in Spain earlier this year, facing charges related to the club's bankruptcy. A meeting will be held in November to see if a new company should be assembled to run the club.
Vinas said the team's finances are stables, but the fan base has deserted the club. A new stadium is in place, and the club – exiled to the third division after the financial woes – now has received promotion to the second tier.
