FC Brussels on the brink of shutdown

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The Football Association has informed the First Division club will not receive a license for next season if they could not prove that all contractual obligations both past and present were met and all monies were paid out to the players. The club said it would appeal but if this fails it faces the prospect of playing in the third division along a three-point handicap. "If we were unsuccessful in our appeal and were forced to play in the third division, we would lose all our strong players and would find it very hard to survive," Brussels Chairman Johan Vermeersch commented in media.
