The Segunda Liga club players have been offered a bonus of €1.5m if the club secures promotion to the top flight this season. The figure is €300,000 higher than the quantity offered to avoid relegation at the end of the past campaign and similar to the amount on offer. The players are to distribute the funds in a way that rewarded those footballers that have played most regularly. The most regular performers are looking at a lump sum of approximately €50,000 while Coach Fernando Vázquez can expect twice that. Thirty-two players have represented the first team this season. The club shared out €2.1m when it qualified for the UEFA Champions League in 2002/03 and €1.65m when it reached the UEFA Cup the year before.
