The 1.Bundesliga club agreed a rescue plan with Westfalenstadion stadium owners Molsiris and Rauball to buy back a large share of the stadium and provide the club with a cash injection of €9 million. An overwhelming majority of 95% of the 5,800 Molsiris share-holders finally voted in favour of the rescue package which was presented by Dortmund’s new president Reinhard Rauball. Rauball believes the German Football League (DFL) will give the six-times German Champions a license to play professional football next season despite the club's financial problems. . Rauball also revealed that a sponsor will finance the club’s yet-to-be built youth academy. Dortmund has so far violated DFL regulations by being the only Bundesliga side without its own academy. It must therefore raise around €5 million for a new training camp for their young professionals or face expulsion from the top flight.
