Espanyol raised €9m in share issue

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The Primera Liga club raised €9m when all 149,759 shares priced at €6 were sold in two-months. The share issue was set up in order to generate funds for the construction of the new Cornellá-El Prat stadium. President Daniel Sánchez Llibre is now the club's second largest shareholder behind only media mogul José Manuel Lara Bosch, the Planeta Group chairman and president of the Association of Private TV companies (UTECA). Sebastián Javier, the owner of the 'Grup Tarradellas' (the club sponsor), also invested heavily and is in a position where he can join the board if he so chooses.
