The Premier League club has announced operating loss of £5.6m for the six-month period to 30 November 2004. Turnover increased to £27.7m, a rise of 6% compared to the corresponding period last year. The club saw operating profits before player amortization stand at £220,000 – a significant increase compared to a loss of almost £3m last year. Operating expenses has been stabilizing following the club’s move from Maine Road to the City of Manchester Stadium. This move has also resulted in an increase in sponsorship and non-match day revenue.
