Stock exchange stopped Birmingham City trade

Trading in English Birmingham City was suspended on the London stock exchange as the club faces a corruption investigation.

"At the request of the company trading on Aim for the under-mentioned securities has been temporarily suspended from 7.30 a.m., pending an announcement," read an Aim Index statement.

Club managing director Karren Brady and co-owner David Sullivan have been questioned by officers from City of London's economic crime unit, who raided the club's offices last month. Brady and Sullivan were happy to cooperate, according to a club spokesman.

Birmingham City denied at the time that the raid was connected with any club wrongdoing.
