According to a report published by UK-based Sports Business Group at accountants Deloitte, Premier League clubs spent in the region of £50m in January's transfer window, a similar amount to last term's mid-season. A record 66% of Premier League spending in 2004/05 has been paid out to non-English clubs compared to approximately 50% last season. Combined summer and January window spending for 2004/05 came to £260m, with clubs receiving only £40m from non-English clubs, and the total volume of transfer money leaving the country was given as £130m. Football League clubs have spent a combined total of £10m on transfer fees, but have received £40m worth of fees from Premier League clubs. Chelsea have contributed around 40% of the Premier League's overall transfer spending in the last two seasons
