The twenty clubs that comprise Italy's Serie A spent EUR 368.4 million to bolster their clubs during the transfer window.
That was almost double the EUR 200 million that was spent leading up to the 2006-2007 season.
Juventus, fresh off promotion following its relegation to Serie B due to the match-fixing scandal, led the way with a EUR 57 million outlay. Roma followed with EUR 34.4 million, next was Inter Milan at EUR 31.9 million and AC Milan at EUR 28 million. Fiorentina rounded out the top five with a EUR 26.8 million spending spree.
Reggina led all clubs with a positive balance after purchases and sales, coming ahead EUR 12.1 million. Eight other clubs reported financial gains during the transfer window.
Juventus took the biggest loss at 39.9 million, far ahead of Nápoles, which had a EUR -23.7 million difference.
