Manchester United to unveil record financial performance
England - 08 January, 2008
The much-anticipated Manchester United financial announcement is set to come by the end of the Jan. 11 week.
The English club is expected to announce record financial performances, including a turnover in the area of GBP 245 million, up 21 percent, from its revenue streams of the Old Trafford gate, its Nike merchandising contract that had never been included in previous statements, and pay-television arm MUTV.
Manchester United also is expected to release the total it spent on agents fees, something the club has not done in the past.
The club also reduced its wages-turnover ratio to 43.6 percent.
The figures from the formerly stock-market listed club, now owned by Malcolm Glazer, means Manchester United trails Real Madrid's revenue figure for last season (06/07) which recorded EUR 351 million (GBP 263 million) in revenue.
