Watford swings pretax profit

Watford Leisure PLC hauled in a pretax profit for the first half, aided by higher revenue and costs attributable to its Premier League status during the period.
Welsh Watford Football Club's owner reported a pretax profit of 1.38 million stg for the period to Dec 31 from a loss of 463,000 stg.
It posted a turnover of 13.98 million stg for the period, up from last year's 4.77 million stg. The company's administrative expenses rose by 896,000 stg for the period to 2.27 million stg.
Watford Leisure announced it is starting a three-year redevelopment project of its Vicarage Road Stadium. The reasons are the potential improvement to the ground and a shot at overall matchday revenue increases.
