Preston North End reports loss

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
English Preston North End announced it suffered a loss of more than GBP 1.3 million, for the six months ending on December 31, 2006, up from GBP 0.38 million in 2005.

Turnover increased by three percent for the same period, and player wages increased with a total staff cost of GBP 3.89 million, which represents a 22 percent increase.

Most of the increase was incurred on players' salaries.

Chairman Derek Shaw said this was because of "continued efforts to maintain a strong Championship squad."
