Soccerex, the global networking and events business which hosts football's global convention in South Africa and London's international football networking event, is returning to Dubai in January 2008 to stage an exclusive, high-level one day forum for Club and Federation CEOs.
The event, in partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid International Football Championship; Dubai Cup, will focus on opportunities in the Middle East for the football industry, including: club tours, developing business interests, expanding brands and finding investors.
Soccerex will hand select 100 senior executives from football governing bodies and Clubs across the globe, and invite 100 senior decision makers from agencies, investors, commercial partners and suppliers to exchange ideas and develop relationships in a relaxed and exclusive environment.
The event will mark a return to Dubai for Soccerex, which has established a rich heritage and strong business relationships in the region after hosting the main Soccerex there for four years, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This new event forms part of Soccerex's expansion strategy to host premier international football events in key global markets.
Soccerex CEO, Duncan Revie "The Soccerex Dubai Forum is the latest addition to the stable of Soccerex events designed to bring the world of football together. By creating this exclusive high level event in Dubai, key people across the industry will be able to spend quality time in a relaxed setting exploring new business relationships and opportunities. By teaming up with this unique event, Soccerex delegates will also be able to watch the 4 international teams compete for a $2.5m prize fund as VIP guests of The Mohammed bin Rashid International Football Championship.”
“I am sure that the growth and establishment in the football calendar of both the Soccerex London Forum and the Soccerex Dubai Forum will further enhance the huge success of the principal Soccerex gathering in Gauteng, South Africa"
Nasser bin Hassan Al-Shaikh, Vice Chairman and CEO of National Bonds, said: “The combination of Soccerex and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Cup taking place in quick succession in Dubai is a clear sign of Dubai’s intention to continue being a major player in the sports business.
“It has already established a reputation as one of the international sporting calendar’s highlight venues with premier events such as horse racing’s Dubai World Cup, and championship tennis and golf tournaments which attract the world’s leading players.
“This is only the beginning. Dubai will build on its sports events, its extensive sponsorships and the magnificent facilities now being developed in the emirate such as Dubai Sports City to create a world class destination for top class sports.”
