Asia is a preferred destination for top European clubs summer tours

Number of European clubs who look to tap into the potentially lucrative Asian market will tour the continent in the summer. Not only those clubs gain a massive brand exposition, they will also pocket millions for pre-agreed contracts with the match agents. Spanish Primera Liga Real Madrid didn’t earn its place in the next season UEFA cup competition and will have to play in the qualification stage. Due that, the club announced that it will make only a short trip to Japan to play two friendly games, which will income the club estimated € 2m. Spanish Primera Liga Barcelona’s tour starts in South Korea with a game against Samsung Blue Wings, and will continue in Japan with two games against J-League clubs Kashima Antlers and Jubilo Iwata. Barcelona’s tour will end in a game with Shanghai Shenhua in China. Barcelona will income estimated € 4m from this Asian summer tour. Italian Serie A Reggina will income estimated € 2.5m for three games in Japan, while Serie A AC Milan will income estimated € 2.5m in return for two games in Hong-Kong and China (Shanghai).  English Premier Newcastle United is planed to play a game in Thailand against the local national team, and a game in Hong-Kong. The two games will income the club estimated € 1m.

English Norwich City which earned promotion to the Premier League was invited to a summer tour in Malaysia by the club’s sponsors, Malaysian car manufacturer Proton. Norwich will play two games over a week, the first against the Malaysian champions Selangor and second against the Malaysian national team. Charlton Athletic is planed to play two games in China and will income estimated € 1m.
