Expansion clubs to play in Western Conference

US Major League Soccer expansion clubs Real Salt Lake and Chivas USA will join the Western Conference next season, while Kansas City Wizards will move to the Eastern Conference, forming two divisions of six teams. The 2005 season, will begin on Saturday 2 April 2005, with all 12 teams competing on the same day. Four teams from each conference will progress to the post season, where home and away conference semi-finals will determine which two teams progress to the conference championship and then on to the grand final.
