FIFA sold 100,000 tickets for 2005 Confederations cup in one day

First-day ticket sales for the competition held in Germany ahead of the World Cup, have confirmed the competition as a major crowd-puller after 100,000 of the 700,000 seats were sold within 24 hours. The Confederations Cup is a rigorous test ahead of the 2006 FIFA World Cup for the organising team.  The biggest draw in Group B is the meeting between Brazil and Greece on 16 June in Leipzig, with 12,000 seats sold in the first 24 hours. Tickets can be booked on the internet or by telephone, with an average price of €42.
