CTS, the experienced tickets distributor for rock concerts, festivals, and sports events including Formula 1, international football matches, and Bundesliga matches, signed a deal with FIFA for distributing the 2006 World Cup tickets. CTS will deploy its state-of-the-art technology to distribute around 3 million tickets for the stadiums in Berlin, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Hannover, Kaiserslautern, Köln, Leipzig, München, Nürnberg and Stuttgart. The tickets will be equipped with a RFID chip (Radio Frequency Identification) as part of the electronic admission control system which includes database registration of the purchaser's name, in line with the broad security measures at the FIFA World Cup. The first contingent will go on sale to football fans around the globe via the internet from 1 February 2005. Both individual tickets and "Team Tickets" are available in the first sales phase. The team ticket guarantees a fan can follow his team in every match, up to and including the Final. With the exception of the tournament’s opening match, tickets are available in four categories with prices range of €35 to €100, which includes tax and public transportation to and from the stadium. FIFA expects revenues of €200m from 2006 World Cup ticket sales.
