Jim Trecker the tournament’s senior communications advisor has told media that Scottish Celtic will be invited once again in the next summer to participate in the tournament. “When you look at the crowds who turned out for their games you can see how much appeal they have in this part of the world” said Trecker. The club has received a reported £ 1m for participating in four matches at this year’s series but can expect far higher payment when it returns to the US next year. English Premier League club Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has revealed the club is considering a preseason return to the tournament. The club earned £ 1m profit from its 12-day tour of Connecticut, Toronto and New York, earning US$ 0.5m per appearance plus any merchandising profits made at its three fixtures.
