Ten million fans watched the Spain versus Italy match, and the Holland versus Russia game lured 9.2 million viewers.
UEFA reported that their tournament website has attracted more visitors from the United Kingdom than from any other country. Euro2008.com had 15 percent of its visitors come from the UK.
Ladbrokes, a popular bookmaker, reports that more gambling is taking place. Supposedly, the absence of English teams has increased business for bookmakers. It is expected that EUR 100 million more will be spent on gambling related to EURO 2008 than was spent during EURO 2004. The figure would amount to EUR 350 million, according to a Ladbrokes spokesman.
