Brazil demands payment for using training facilities

The Brazilian national team was hosted during the FIFA Confederations Cup this summer by the Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. The Brazilian team drew almost 20,000 fans watching a training session featuring star players like Adriano, Kaka and Ronaldinho. Following Brazilian FA (CBF) officials and players positive remarks about the training facilities at the Bay-Arena, the club has invited the five-time World Cup winners to use its site as their World Cup base.

The CBF however has surprised the club, and demanded to be paid for training at their facilities. The CBF has communicated Meinolf Sprink, the sport commissioner of Bayer - the pharmaceutical giants owning the club, asking how much it is willing to pay when the Brazilian agree to train in Leverkusen. "The email was sent to others as well. This is a competition in order to hike prices and we have no intention of joining the race," Sprink commented to local media.
