The Premier League club will field their full first-team including star striker Wayne Rooney when the club play a Hong Kong invitational side, team boss Alex Ferguson said. “We are committed to bringing our top players to Asia. We want to make it a match for everyone to remember,” Ferguson said in a statement, dispelling fears that only a half-rate team would pitch up for the friendly match. “Our preparations for next season have probably never been as vital, and we will use every pre-season match we play to the fullest,” Ferguson said. Italian sides Juventus and AC Milan were recently criticized for bringing sub-standard squads to play in Hong Kong friendly matches despite charging up to US$150 for tickets.
