FIFA has declared itself satisfied with the investigation by the German Football Association (DFB) and relevant judicial authorities into the refereeing scandal involving German official Robert Hoyzer. Hoyzer compromised the credibility of referees when he admitted in January he had manipulated matches for financial gain. The FIFA Executive Committee discussed the matter in detail its two-day meeting in Zurich this week and has decided to await the final results of all investigations being conducted in Germany before making further decisions. "In view of the current refereeing scandal in Germany, the FIFA Executive Committee underlined its total support for the German Football Association (DFB) and the German legal authorities," FIFA said in a statement. "The committee also voiced its entire satisfaction with the investigations being conducted by the DFB and the relevant judicial authorities, and expressed its full support for and trust in referees."
