Eight bidders to host Euro 2012

UEFA has received eight bids from national associations to host the 2012 European competition. Solo bids were offered by Azerbaijan, Greece, Italy, Romania, Russia and Turkey, and joint bids from Croatia/Hungary and Poland/Ukraine. The associations are to present initial bid dossiers until July 21, while UEFA will announce which of the three bids will go forward in November. Final decision is due on December 2006.
