San Jose Earthquakes is once again in doubt

A report questioning the level of funding local businessman Tony Amanpour was able to provide, and after missing two deadlines given last month to provide US$2.5m letter of credit, Amanpour has pulled out of a bid to purchase the Major League Soccer club. As a result of the withdrawal, owners Anschutz Entertainment Group officials are holding talks with various parties although the group agreed to fund the team for one more season in San Jose, while looking for new owners.
