The English Premier League is ready to request documentation that details the specifics on who controls the company that Carson Yeung used to purchase Birmingam City Football Club last month, The Guardian reports.

A number of transactions have taken place that changes who possess the controlling stake of Grandtop International Holdings. Two other companies in the British Virgin Islands, Genuine Ocean International Trading and Winning Top International Overseas, now hold more than a 42 per cent stake in the Grandtop.

Vice Chairman Peter Pannu explained that Yeung will continue to hold the same stake in the club and will continue to make decisions for the club, though the documents and transactions are difficult to explain.

According to Premier League rules, Birmingham City must clarify who is the beneficial owner of the club, or if a fit and proper persons test must be taken. If a 10 per cent (or more) stake is owned by new parties, or if there are any new club directors, they must be announced.
