Audi buys shares in Bayern Munich

German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich are to sign a sponsorship and investment deal with German auto manufacturer Audi.

The deal is estimated to be worth EUR 100 million, according to manager Uli Hoeness. The length of the sponsorship has yet to be revealed.

Fot the investment part, Audi is to get a 9.5 percent stake in the club. Rupert Stadler, head of Audi would take a seat on the club board should the deal be finalized. Audi chairman and CEO of Volkswagen, Martin Winterkorn, already has a position on the board.
