Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
According to media reports the Premier League club owner Mohamed Al Fayed met with a Turkish consortium headed by millionaire Husni Falyali and brother Halil which are interested in launching a £35m takeover bid. Speculation was increased when Halil was pictured in London on Monday at the club’s training ground after visiting Craven Cottage. However, Jack Irvine Al Fayed’s media advisor denied the rumors but Al Fayed is said to be angry that news of the talks had been leaked and the spokesman denied that the club had been put up for sale. Al Fayed has invested more than £100m in the club since taking control in May 1997.
