Mohamed Al Fayed denies the possibility that English Fulham could be sold, despite the fact that recent rumours have dictated otherwise. Al Fayed told Sky Sports that he has no intention of leaving Fulham, calling it the “best club in the world.”

Although Fulham has been struggling to hang on to its Premier League status, manager Roy Hodgson remains pleased with the team’s progress. Teetering on the brink of relegation last season, Fulham has since put forth a strong effort and shown significant improvement.

Al Fayed felt the need to reassure fans by dismissing the rumours that have been circulating.

While he appears to be more than happy with the club and its fans, Al Fayed has been quick to condemn the financial imbalance within the sport. The Fulham owner feels that wealth should be distributed more evenly throughout the clubs, openly supporting the implementation of a wage cap.

Al Fayed further indicated that Fulham’s expenses increased by 17 percent last year, leaving him to wonder how top players can bring in multi-million dollar paychecks. The club leader went on to refer to the officials behind the Premier League and the Football Association (FA) as “donkeys who don’t understand business.”

Al Fayed suggested that the Premier League and FA should bargain for a cut of the revenue brought in by major broadcasters, as a result of the action supplied by clubs like Fulham.
