Anschutz Entertainment Group to sell DC United

The group which owns ten Major League Soccer clubs is believed to consider selling DC United after their sale of fellow club San Jose Earthquakes. The group founder Phillip Anschutz is keen to off-load some of his MLS franchises to increase competition. Last year, the group sold the rights to fellow MLS club Colorado Rapids to Stan Kroenke.
