David Sullivan's fears might have been assuaged as Carson Yeung reaffirmed his commitment to buying English Birmingham City as soon as possible, with an October target.
Sullivan, a co-owner of the club, had expressed concern that Yeung was taking his time on buying full control of Birmingham City.
Yeung paid GBP 15 million for an initial 29.9% stake last month, but recently said he hoped to have a takeover done by the end of the year.
"I appreciate that Mr. Sullivan wants to ensure the stability of the club as soon as possible," said Sammy Yu, a Yeung representative. "We have no bad feelings about what was said in the week.
"But sooner or later it will happen. At the moment we are making sure we satisfy the regulations that all listed companies in Hong Kong have to abide by.
Yu attributed the cautious outlook to the way things are done in the United Kingdom, saying that working out the details of a buyout took longer there than in Hong Kong.
