Foreign investors look into Cardiff City

Welsh Cardiff City could soon have some cash infusion courtesy of overseas investors.

The club has been in talks with potential investors, with chairman Peter Risdale and manager Dave Jones in Spain this past week to personally court an investor. Any additional money would help Jones with additional transfers, as well as help the club with its stadium project.

Cardiff City had issues with a legal case that could have throttled potential investing. The club was taken to court by Langston company in an effort to get immediate upfront repayment of a loan. But the first decision went the club's way, which kept the club from a potential plunge into administration.

Risdale credited the sudden interest less with the court case, and more with the run to the FA Cup finals. A victory there also would send the club to the UEFA Cup, likely stirring up more interest.

Risdale also said he would actively seek more funding throughout the summer. He said he believes additional funding will help Jones assemble the final pieces for the club to contend for Premier League promotion next season.
