English Sheffield Wednesday is close to a takeover, as a London-based consortium fronted by businessman Geoff Sheard has moved toward a final deal.
The club's former chairman has said he will see his 11 percent stake of the supporters' group sells its shares.
Supporters group chairman Darryl Keys said it was just a matter of Sheard's lawyers finishing up the legal end before the deal is complete. To complete the sale of supporters' shares, a member vote is first needed. The group is believed to have been offered between GBP 1million and GBP 1.5 million for their equity.
