New English owner for Real Mallorca

Despite a lack of football knowledge, UK plumbing entrepreneur Paul Davidson will become the next owner of Spanish Real Mallorca. Davidson fully admits to knowing very little about football, yet plans to attend every match. However, sports-related decisions will be left to current management, including Chairman Vicente Grande.

"We will operate our other businesses from the club, but I will not be taking decisions about football. I will leave that to the current management," Davidson told The Telegraph.

Davidson is better known as "The Plumber", the result of an extremely successful pipe repair technique. A former pipe fitter, the London native recently earned approximately GBP 40 million through his company, Fluid Leader, and is said to have purchased Real Mallorca for more than GBP 50 million.

It’s possible that Davidson has invested in more than football; the Spanish club also owns large pieces of land in Palma, which may have appealed to Davidson as sites for future business ventures.
