Investor Joe Berardo was making a try at an 85-percent stake of Portuguese Benfica, going for 20 percent more than he originally anticipated after the nation's market regulator said he had to make an attempt at all available shares.
CMVM, the nation's market regulator, said Berardo's bid of EUR 3.5 a share had to include all shares available for the club. That raised Berardo's try from EUR 31.5 million to EUR 44.6 million.
The 15 percent Berardo is not attempting to grab belong to the club, but are not available for sale.
