English Portsmouth owner Alexandre Gaydamak is thinking in the long-term.
Gaydamak wants to establish his club among the Big Four, something he said can take 20-some years to build.
Part of the plan is investing in a new training ground and replacing the stadium. This is vital to what Gaydamak sees as a way to push Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Gaydamak has promised new players again this summer, knowing a monetary investment will go a long way.
"It could take a generation, if at all, but we're in sports so we must strive," he told the BBC. "It's the size of the big four's stadiums, their infrastructure, their financial capabilities that have put them to this level and first and foremost their talents and managers."
