Birmingham City takeover appears doubtful

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
English Birmingham City is fearing that the Carson Yeung takeover deal might be a bust because of Yeung's difficulty financing the move.

On top of that, the club is worried that manager Steve Bruce will go to Wigan, dealing Birmingham City another blow.

Yeung has been a source of trouble for the club. He has been chided by club chairman David Sullivan for his slow-moving takeover. Sullivan set a Christmas deadline for the deal to be completed.

A victim of what appears to be a botched takeover is Bruce. Yeung grabbed a 29.9 stake in the club, and Bruce appeared set for a new contract after the club gained promotion. But Yeung would not sign off on a new deal.

Bruce apparently has found that deal from Wigan.
