English Football Club Tottenham Hotspur could be up for sale.
According to the Mirror, an organization from the Middle East, based in Dubai, has made contact with Joe Lewis, the head of the ENIC investment group which owns 82 percent of the club.
Lewis recently suffered a GBP 400 million loss due to the fall of Bear Stears, and American investment bank earlier this year. It is clear that Lewis is interested in selling his share of Hotspur at a profitable time.
The club is currently valued near GBP 250 million. This value is at this level considering this is the third year in a row that the club has qualified for the UEFA Cup.
Lewis, along with Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy, expects the North London football club to double its value in the coming years.
Should the Dubai-based group make a deal with Lewis, Tottenham Hotspur will become yet another Premier League club that has been passed to foreign ownership, making the total number nine.
