Businessman Neville Dickens said he has made a final bid to buy the Football League club. Dickens, who is a former director of the cash-strapped club, has said he made an increased offer to buy the club from current owner Alex Hamilton. But he added that unless Hamilton accepted his new offer it was unlikely he would make another attempt to purchase the club.
Dickens has been linked to purchasing the club since April, when it was revealed this made an initial bid. This bid was rejected by Alex Hamilton, who revealed there was another interested party intent on making an offer.
“It is good that he (Dickens) has made another bid for the club. The supporters have just got to be hopeful that Alex Hamilton will accept the offer. The consequences of him not accepting the bid don’t bear thinking about. Hopefully the bid will meet Hamilton’s requirements and we can start going into the new season with a bit of hope that everything will be sorted at the club,” Wrexham Supporters Trust representative Bruce Clapton commented in media.
