Indian-born billionaire Lakshmi Mittal offered no comment on his name being linked to a possible takeover of English Birmingham City.
A spokesman for the steel magnate declined comment after Mittal – one of the world's richest men – was linked to examining a possible buyout of the club. Mittal's name was thrown in as a possibility along with a Far East businessman whose name has not been revealed.
Mittal has a personal fortune of nearly GBP 20 billion.
There is also speculation that former Birmingham City player Ray Ranson could make a try. Ranson had attempted to buy Aston Villa two years ago, but was stopped by chairman Doug Ellis.
